MISSION STATEMENT

The highest aim of German School New York is to enable the self-actualization of our students within the context of social responsibility.  We educate young people to be morally mature, intellectually strong, both knowledgeable in all the traditional academic subjects and conscious of their responsibilities to the community. 

The specific educational aims of German School New York are to afford our students mastery of German and English as well as proficiency in other languages.  In addition, the students’ study of both the European past and present in conjunction with their daily interaction with people from different backgrounds nurture an ability and readiness to contribute to the development of international understanding.  So many of our students and alumni can be characterized by the genial, tolerant and open-minded perspective of the Weltbürger.
